Mid Century Bar Stool Makeover

I found this pair of mid century bar stools at the Salvation Army for only $6.99 each! A few days after I bought them, I saw a photo from 1961 that showed bar stools exactly like them. So, I know they are at least 54 years old!
Structurally, they were in great shape. They even swivel. But, they needed a face lift,
I used chalk paint from the Dixie Belle Paint Company and painted one of the bar stools white. Then I added a gray stripe.
I don't like things centered, so I painted the gray stripe "off" a little.
For the second bar stool, I did the reverse. I painted it gray with a white stripe.
A perfect pair!
Now that they've had a little TLC, maybe they'll last another 50 plus years!

Love, love, love it! You are so lucky to find these at that price. Our Salvos stores got greedy and put all their prices up, which is ironic as I thought these stores were originally supposed to supply cheaply priced second hand stuff to people who cannot afford to buy new! Our local one closed down - hardly surprising as they priced themselves out of the market I think. We still have a Vinnies store but they don't have the good stuff in there usually. I have turned to ebay and kerb side throw outs for my makeovers.

Great find. They are ARTHUR UMANOFF mid-century stools that go for over $250.00 on ETSY. I have one and refuse to let anyone sit in it. ;-)
