I still have no reply as to how the board & batten costs $11. Did you simply paint the wall and add strips to appear to look like B&B? Please respond. LUV it!

@Mary Eill At Restore, I purchased two sets of faux wood blinds for my windows for just $12. The blinds were a tad too long so I ended with a few leftover pieces. Instead of trashing them, I created a board and batten for a kitchen backsplash.I painted the wall white (using leftover paint), cut the blinds and used liquid nails (already had) to stick them to the painted wall. The project didn't cost me anything since I already had everything. If you shop at Restore and needed to buy all the supplies, it would cost between $15 and $20.Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the panel that can be bought at a home improvement store? 3/8" R B&B? That is a plywood grooved to look like a board and batten style from a distance. That usually sells for around $10 to $15 dollars, depending on the region. For a more true looking board and batten, I would just buy Rough sawn exterior grade plywood or no groove plywood siding and then put 1X2 cedar slats @ what ever intervals that you are going for. The cabin not far from here did theirs at 12" intervals and then stained it all with a dark cedar stain. Looks awesome. But Everything has to be level from step one, or you can make the house/wall look like it is leaning.
