70 Year old Antique Secretary Desk

This is what I have been working on for the last two months. It has been a labor of love. It is my Maternal Grand Mothers, and it has finally made it to me. But it was in need of refinishing and repair when I got it. A dog had chewed off one leg and part of the front just above the top drawer. The original finish was dark lacquer and the wood grain could not be seen through the dark lacquer. I repaired the foot and the front, and stripped the whole thing down to bare wood. I stained it with MinWax Red Mahogany and finished it with MinWax Tung Oil hand rubbed and wet sanded in between each coat.
My sister brought this to Florida from New York for me to have.
I did the chemical stripping out doors in the driveway. But due to the humidity in Florida I had to move indoors to apply the stain and finish.
The Only problem was my wife did not care for the fact that I applied the finish in the middle of her living room of our Condo. I don't have a shop. She is glad I am done and that she has a new desk to use.
