Pretty Pink & White Faux Deerhead

I love the look of faux taxidermy, especially when it's done with fun and unexpected colours. This post is about how I used an expensive version as inspiration for a cost effective, fun alternative.
Here is my pretty finished product, which didn't start out so fancy.
This is the inspiration pic that set the wheels in motion. I knew I had to have it, but this pretty ceramic guy cost $94.99 plus shipping, so I knew I needed to find a more affordable option.
In comes this guy to the rescue. $24.99 on clearance at my local hardware store. He is made of resin, not ceramic, which was fine by me.
After a can of white spray paint and some hot pink craft paint, he looked like this. I love a good bargain, and an easy project. It's a win win for me ;)
He sits centre stage on my office gallery wall.

It's called Home Hardware. It's a Canadian chain, so if you're in the US, you may be out of luck.

But checking the hunting section of big box stores is a great idea. Especially if you're planning on changing the colour anyhow ;)
