If this was your kitchen, what would you do?

We have worked really hard getting this kitchen right where we want it. The problem is...I keep changing my mind. I love the black, I love the white. I want both. If this was your kitchen, what would you do? All comments welcome...even if you think it should be pink.
Me adding more white.

Julie - I think it's perfectly gorgeous!! So don't you have both B & W now? Did you develop a little bit of OCD while doing this? I think you need to just STOP - step back, take a DEEEEEEEP breath and leave it alone. Just walk away Julie. . . . . it's ok Honey, we're here for ya! LOL

LOL I agree with Susan S. It's beautiful! I think you have found the perfect balance of the black and white.

Hi Julie, I think your look is divine! Your ideas are lovely and personally, I have searched far and wide for dark and light cabinet combos and I came to the conclusion that it can look very "high end". My kitchen is no where near as custom as yours but I am really enjoying my dark cabinets along with my lightly distressed off white. I chose this option because I needed to work around white appliances I did not want to replace due to downsizing in the near future. Remember, if you walk in your space and feel wonderful....that's all that matters. If you like it then its perfect. Shirley

Shirley...I love the pots!!! And you are right...if you walk in and it feels wonderful, that's all that matters! Yours looks wonderful-I love the mix! Susan-as a matter of fact I do have OCD. Diagnosed, treated, and doing pretty well. Sometimes it does sneak up and influence my decorating decisions. But that's my nature anyhow...I love change, and risk taking. That's more of a personality trait than a disorder. For our kitchen...it was too dark. I knew it all along-pure denial, so adding more white feels good. Still love hearing other opinions to see what they think. Having fun with all of it :)

Julie - you KNOW that sometimes getting MORE opinions can work against you and end up being confusing instead of validating!! STOP while you're ahead!! It's perfect!! @Shirley C - I think your kitchen looks great too. You should post it separately so others can see it. I like that you have the cooktop in the counter and separate ovens. If I ever completely remodel my kitchen this is exactly what I would do!!

Julie, the difference is awesome. It is very rich looking , very elegant without being pretentious.Cozy. I know the feeling tho, "not quite right". I hate that feeling.Maybe you need to leave yours and do someone else's ..hint hint! :) @Shirley C I love yours also. Nicely done girls!

I would try living with a while. I adore how it looks now. Your kitchen is fabulous - black or white!
  • Great foundation and neutral enough for resale. All that is left is some staging/ accessorizing. Pop it with some bright color like yellow, green or red. You have a lot of places that will work. . . behind your glass doors, table and/or counter tops or even above the cabinetry. Great job.

It is gorgeous! I don't see how it could be more beautiful! I love the Swiss Coffee color from Behr. I had all my ceilings painted that color when we built our home 2 years ago. The Bright White Crown molding really shows up next to it!

I would do the top cabinets in a grey, or blue shade. Light color, not quite as stark as the white

The secret of great art is knowing when to stop. I think this kitchen is great. Add your few favorite things and stop. Stand back and look what you created.

Take a picture and take it to a paint store that can upload it and has a program that lets you change the colors in the picture till you see something you love. I'm now thinking maybe a pale gray for the top cabinets would look great.
