The Easiest Way to Put on a Duvet Cover

I love my duvet but putting on that duvet cover has always driven me crazy! This simple method makes it so much easier and lets you line up the edges perfectly every time!
First check your duvet and duvet cover to see if they have these ties in the corners to keep them together. I'm not sure why all duvets don't have these {because they really should!} but they sure make a difference!
Next, place the duvet cover INSIDE OUT on the floor and lay the duvet over top of it. You could place it on your bed if you don’t have room to lay it out, but if you are doing it on your own, I find it a lot easier to do on the floor. Line up the corners of your duvet to the corners or the duvet cover and do up the duvet ties if they have any. If you don’t have ties, don’t worry. This method still works great!
Starting at the TOP of the duvet, roll the duvet and cover up until you reach the bottom. Once you have rolled it all up, move towards one end. Reach into the duvet opening and grab the duvet cover from the RIGHT SIDE OUT. You then kind of fold it over the roll to stuff the roll inside. Continue to do this along the length of the roll and on the other end of the roll. {NOTE: Think of it like the plastic sandwich bags that you close by folding the top over on itself.}
Button up {or zip if you are lucky!} the duvet cover. Place the roll back on the bed with the buttons at the foot of the bed. Unroll your roll and you are done! {NOTE: If it doesn’t seem to want to unroll, just flip it over!}.

    i bought a 3d duvet cover that came with a really large sheet my question is what do I do with this sheet
  • Gradmama Gradmama on Feb 05, 2017
    yes, I am going to do it...all that held me back was putting the cover on the sheet. Kitties DO love helping to make the bed...I guess its one of their main rules to never let us make our beds without their help.
