Lavender Bath Salts - a Repurpose

Repurpose small glass juice or soda bottles and wine corks into lovely Lavender Bath Salt gift bottles. You will need a glass bottle approx 7" tall, epsom salts, dried lavender, a cork, spray paint, a piece of stiff paper, buttons, ribbons etc for embellishment & an optional tag.
Wash & dry the bottle thoroughly.
Spray paint the cork & let dry. I used a bronze Metallic from Rust-oleum. It gives the corks an aged look that I really like.
Roll the stiff piece of paper in to a cone with a 1/2 inch opening at the small end. This will be your funnel to pour in the salts & lavender.
Using the paper funnel pour in about 1 & 1/2 inch of epsom, then about 1/2 as much lavender. Alternate until you have filled the bottle. Push down gently & fill with more epsom. Push cork in gently.
Decorate with ribbon, buttons & whatever you like. I used torn linen strips, twine, pink floss and a tea stained tag stamped with a crown.
Make it pretty!
1 and 1/2 cups epsom & 3/4 cup lavender made 3 bottles.
So what do you think? An inexpensive, lovely gift for Valentine's Day, a hostess or teachers gift.

I just saw a pin on Hometalk on how to make decorative cork stoppers by drilling a small hole from top to bottom in a wine bottle cork and screwing a decorative drawer know into the top of the cork. Would be very cute to adorn the tops of these bottles for gifts.
