Where do you paint jars and wine bottles

I am looking for ideas for a container or board or something to paint bottles on that I can spray the whole bottle at one time.. Sitting a bottle on paper or cardboard it seems to stick to the paint.

You could get a dowel or pipe ram it onto a large piece of styrofoam then turn your bottle or jar upside down then put it on the dowel and then spray. If you do this inside a cardboard box turned on it's side it will cut down on over spray getting everywhere. Just a thought!

You could also keep an eye out for an old lamp with a sturdy base take it apart keeping only the base and the tall center rod screwed to the base and then put the bottles on that and no need for styrofoam.

Thanks for your ideas, @ Kat. I found another idea online.Nail 2 pieces of boards together, The one on top a little shorter. The picture then showed dowel rods in the board. And it suggested getting a cardboard display board to put in front of that to prevent over spray.

You can also use a cardboard box , it prevents over sray . Use a piece of ridged insulation with dowels or pegs in it , works great for bottles .

    for jars, obviously
  • Take a string tie it to a small dowel that fits into the top so the dowel will prevent the string from falling out once its placed into the bottle top. much like a cork. The string will allow the bottle to hang freely in the center of the opening, by twisting the string while you spray the bottle it will spin slowly so you can get a even coat of spray on the bottle. You can tie the other end of the string on a board placed between to chair backs, or tie the string to a hook on the ceiling. We do this same thing when we spray stair case balusters only we screw a tiny hook on one end and then hang them to spray. Works like a charm.
