We dump a lot in that area. The floor is discoloured. Need an idea on the best type of paint to cover up the discoloured cement.

  • There are plenty of epoxy kits you can get at your favorite home store / lumberyard With that make sure you follow the directions & concentrate on the prep - just like items many items - 80 to 90% of the work is in the prep

I heard stain does a good job as it penatrates into the cement so no chipping. .

We used concrete paint. Peeled off from the heat of the car and tires. Not sure what to tell you except DONT use concrete paint.

    Thanks Ann. that was helpful.
  • ..I have used porch and deck paint on concrete...but used a PRIMER first, no peeling..no flaking. Tintable and can be used indoors on concrete, etc.

@Shelby @ The Weathered Barn Studio - Thats a good tip Shelbybella. Will it hold the heat of the car and tires I wonder.
  • ..If you seal it, it holds up well. The epoxy coating you can get at Home Depot and such is great...but quite expensive. I worked for a gentleman whose living room floors and hallway were painted concrete, they had used the deck and porch paint and had it tinted a custom color, It was so cool. He said they sealed it , and cool thing...they had put random " designs' onto the floor as well...swirls, scrolls, quotes...very cool. :)
