We have a large antique mirror. It's been in the family for years.

Our grandson sprayed that silly string on it. It now has his design work almost like etched onto the mirror. Any suggestions on how to remove them......He will never get silly string again ever!

If it is really etched into the surface, you will need to re-polish the glass instead of just cleaning it. Try polishing compound (for cars) or ask at the hardware store for something to polish scratches out of glass.

You might also try nail polish remover to see if it comes off. Otherwise go with rose paste per Darla's suggestion

I have used a product called Bon-Ami, for glass. It might get that off. Also try a single edged razor blade (being very careful), and scrape it off.

Goof Off. It even got sharpie off a white board- can't even tell it was ever there. Just spray it and let it sit for a few minutes and wipe off.

next time, just use rubbing alcohol. gets sharpie off any smooth surface. sunscreen will get it off skin pretty instantly. I haven't found the solution for fabrics, but my kids aren't little anymore, so maybe it won't come up again =)
