Medicine Bottles

Anyone have any ideas for the endless amounts of Medicine bottles my husband and I get on a monthly basis? I hate throwing them all away, but other then storing small things in, I have no idea what to do with them other then tossing them. So hoping someone has an AWESOME idea for them!

I remove the label and then use them as storage containers for small hardware (nuts, washers, screws, nails, tacks, etc.) Filled with nickels, one became a perfect weight for doing 'Kumihimo' projects. The larger ones hold a bottle of acrylic paint. You could create a holding rack. I like Cora's idea of filling them with money. You could make stocking stuffers with them.

Years ago I saw a craft in a magazine for this. The specifics are eluding me, but I remember placing them on a baking sheet in the oven. (Probably low temp) Each bottle slowly melts down creating different shapes. While still warm you can use an ice pic to place a hole in it to create a pendant. Or leave it as and add a pin to the back. Can be used as game pieces or anything your imagination can come up with. Decorate with any kind of paint, stain or even gold leafing. They were really quite interesting and definitely unique. Hope this is useful.

After cleaning them out and removing the labels, you could use them for spices. It's great when you buy in bulk or make your own seasonings like taco seasoning or chili mix. You can make your own fancy labels.

If you have a local animal shelter, they can reuse them for medicines for the animals. Just clean them out and take the labels off and they are ready!
