Mushroom

Normally, I get small single mushrooms(toadstools?) in my yard but this morning I saw this growing on the west side of a tree. The edges almost look as though they have been singed. It is almost 12 inches in size.

Ummmmm Y'all didn't happen to read the recent story about a nursing home caregiver who made mushroom soup and killed two people and is in critical condition herself at the hospital along with one more person....DON'T Eat it DEE...LOL I had two rows of something very similar in my front yard, following the roots of the oak tree...as far as I'm concerned it's one more reason to get rid of the oak before it falls on the house or cars...
