DIY Christmas Gift Idea- Peppermint Sugar Scrub

Did you know there are just two ingredients needed to make your own sugar scrub? Sugar and oil! That's it! For a scented scrub, add a few shakes of essential oil such as peppermint or lavender. Mix it all together and put it in a pretty container and you've got a great DIY gift for someone (or keep it for yourself!)
It's really that easy.

Ingredients for a sugar scrub- sugar, sweet almond oil or grapeseed oil (or olive, but it's got a strong scent), essential oil and wide mouthed jar for scooping.http://www.folklifestyle.com/2012/11/diy-christmas-gift-ideas.html

Assemble the ingredients- sugar, a carrier oil ( I like sweet almond but you could use any oil that is good for the skin and liquid at room temp like olive, jojoba, or fractionated coconut
I used Ball 1/2 pint jars. You could reuse a plastic coconut oil container if you don't want glass jars in your bath. http://www.folklifestyle.com/2012/11/diy-christmas-gift-ideas.html

Why don't they ever tell you how much of each product is used? The ratio?

That's a good question. Why not list it right with the instructions?

Anna they want you to click over to their blogs so they don't tell everything in a post!

Zimmerman,Anna, I agree it is frustrating to not find all you need at the beginning but for many of the bloggers this is the way they stay home and care for their children instead of putting them in a day care or other reasons. By clicking on their blogs you make this happen. This puts it into perspective for me. Am I still frustrated ,sure, but I will continue to be to help a child have its mom or the many other reasons out there. If you read the about portion of their blogs many times it will help you understand.

How long do these products last?

My guess would be quite awhile as sugar is a preservative, sort of! Used in glass and sealed, I would say over 6 months!!?

Thanks, I was concerned about the moisture and mold accumulating.

If you make small portions you will be ok. Discard after 6 months.
