Furniture Update With Hardware
Do you want to update a piece of your furniture, but you really don't want to paint it? I was dealing with the same issue. We use a dresser in our master bedroom that was in my room as a child. It is a good piece of furniture, but it looked dated. I decided to switch out the pulls, and it made a huge difference.
This is an Ethan Allen dresser that has a lot of sentimental value to me. I didn't like the way it looked, but paint wasn't an option. The brass pulls were what I didn't like.
I decided to remove the hardware but then found out that the wood had faded over the years, and an outline of the old hardware remained. I decided to just ignore it and move on.
I found some great oiled bronze pulls that have a somewhat contemporary design. They look great on the dresser and even cover the part that wasn't faded. Next, I plan to remove the mirror and hang one on the wall that is contemporary. To see more photos, please visit our blog.
