I have an adjustable bed and lowered it to be able to get in/out easier. Any ideas for a headboard (homemade) about 12 inches high. Just to cover bare space on wall. Thanks, Joann

I've found a few things on Pinterest like making a padded headboard that is fastened to the wall. Also using multicolored wood slats also applied to the wall.

You could even use a heavy cardboard and cover it with some batting and fabric that co-ordinated with your bedding, etc.

Depending on the size of your bed, a window shutter or two - painted and mounted to the wall could work.

Write the word "headboard" in the search box above. There are several projects from other Hometalkers. One is sure to inspire you.

Thanks for the suggestions, because the area is about 12 in. high I just might put several framed pieces of coordinating fabrics on the wall about 5 in. apart. When the bed is lowered you see the blank wall But when the top of the bed is raised you don't see it.

Oops I forgot to mention that the bed is under a window ergo the 12 inches between the bed and window. senior moment!!!!!

In that case you can put drapes the width of the bed even if the window is only behind part of it. That would work better if the window is centered under the window.

I have seen someone use a beautiful quilt for a headboard, attached to the wall. Looked fantasti. She used something like a whiteboard on the back of the quilt so it made it easier to hang and also gave the quilt some depth.
