Repurposed Upright Piano - DESK!

What do you do with a gorgeous piano that destined for the burn pile? Turn it into a desk!
I saw this piano advertised on craigslist for free, and the owner said that it would be burned if no one took it. My friend and I drove over an hour with her enclosed trailer to rescue this beauty.
Then, I took it apart and gave it a new life. I un-assembled (is that a word?) pieces and parts and then cut a desk top from oak plywood.
The end result was truly amazing! You can still see a lot of the inner workings and it is clear that it was a piano, but it now has updated functionality for today's homes!

I have an upright piano that I wanted to get rid off until I discovered all the many ways to repurpose upright pianos on Pinterest. Now I want to repurpose it into a desk but how do I begin to dismantle it? Where do I begin? Any and all suggestions on where to start, special precautions, and what to do with the parts will be greatly appreciated.
