Stairway Gallery Wall and Entryway Makeover

1 Hour
Easy
We recreated our stairway with a gorgeous Gallery Wall by reusing and combining photos and pieces from our previous homes. It only took about an hour, was thrifty, and created an instant home-y feel.
It was such a blank space and was the first thing you see when you come in our front door. Not a very welcoming entry. I love to decorate with keys and stars. I've used keys in pictures before and wanted to continue that theme up my stairway.
The giant key over the clock came from my grandmother's estate. They came in a set of 3 and had a gold finish. I spray painted it Oil Rubbed Bronze to match the color scheme.
look at that little hand! *sigh* Keeping costs down meant reusing items from our previous homes. I mixed black and white pictures from my Baby Collage we used before. I also included scenery photos my husband took from his travels along the way.
These keys were hanging on the bookcase from my other grandma's house for as long as I can remember and were passed on to me. I think it's so neat that I have both of my grandmothers represented on my wall.
In keeping with the key theme, I hung these locks that we found junkin'. I added a frame around them that I found from Goodwill years back.
I mirrored the idea below with another key.
This Homemade hanging picture plaque I made from a piece of wood and knobs. The frames are from the dollar store with ribbon hot glued to hold them in place.
One eyesore I've hated is the doorbell box. I used a wooden ornamental ledge and hung it just beneath the box and added a frame to hide it a bit. The piece is a garage sale frame with an embroidered tea towel. I never used the tea towel for fear of ruining it, so now it's a display piece!
One thing that stuck out was my Peach Front Entry door. It was the last of the original paint from when we purchased our house and needed to go!
We used the leftover paint from our Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel. It is Sherwin Williams Dovetail SW 7018. We took off the weathered brass knob and deadbolt and spray painted them with Oil Rubbed Bronze.
Before and After
So that's it! By reusing items, I was able to create a more welcoming entry way for free! Can't beat that!

Where did you find the large black key above the clock? I’ve trying to find one with no luck.

What an amazing transformation to your stairway wall. I love it. One question though…after you spray painted your door hardware, did you use anything the keep the paint from rubbing off?
