Baby Shower Diaper Cake Gift

Diaper cake with lots of useful goodies.
It's a little challenging but worth it when it's done. First determine what size diapers to use. I do size 3 on bottom, 2 on middle and 1 on top. If I do 4 tier then newborns on top, but newborns don't get used as much as the other sizes. I get a roll of sturdy string.
You can use the strength to hold each section of the diapers together lay them out on top of the string about an inch and a half apart, and then gently start to roll it together pulling string at the same time to hold it together. Approximately 15 diapers it will vary with size of cake you decide on. Then lay out string and diapers again and take the roll you just did and repeat but this time lay they previous roll on the new set up and roll onto the first and it makes it larger tie off with the string and repeat process til you reach the size you want. And you will do the same with each layer checking you sizes to form the look of a tiered cake.
Then using hot glue or glue dots put ribbon over the string to cover and decorate. Don't glue to diapers only to the overlapped ribbon. (Remember you want the diapers usable).
Then you get to decorate. The hard part is behind you lol. Finding items that are cute and usable are important- onesies, pacifier, rolled washcloths, heal products, teething toys. Most of the diaper cakes I've seen are mostly decorations and not enough usable items. Try to coordinate with the theme or colors of person you are giving to. I like to look at their shower registries to get ideas and colors and themes. Then using glue dots and hot glue to add all the items onto the cake. You can even use string/small ribbon to tie around items and poke it down between the diapers to help hold the item never ever ever glue anything to the diapers if you have to glue you glue directly to the ribbon. Have fun the first time will be a challenge rolling the diapers, be inventive on how to hold them together to tie the string, add a bow to the front and add little flowers or what nots to add extra decor. Good luck and god bless.
You will have to set on something sturdy. A piece of wood or something as it is heavy be thoughtful of something useful to put it on. Maybe a large story book? Again wait for the oohs and aahs when you give this gift of love.
