Have old hot tub off deck. What to do with it?

I second the garden pond idea and would put gold fish and water lilys (planted in sinken pots) in there. Have staggered (different types) plantings around the tub would finish off the whole thing. We have had a gold fish pond for almost 30 yrs and everyone loves to sit around it as fish are very calming. The fact the tub is deep is good so the fish will have a lower level for the wintertime and also hide from other animals (we have raccoons) who are looking for a meal.

Hopefully it's a redwood hot tub and not the more current acrylic spa. I'd definitely go with a pond and water plants. If it no longer holds water well, then turn it into a planter/veggie garden if it's in a sunny area. Get creative and have fun!

I put a pump in my filter compartment &made mine into a fountain feature.....use plenty of chlorine to keep water clear!

If you do not want to dig out & sink it, The Air-Stone sold at Lowes can also be used outdoors and can be attached to the sides for a above ground pond. If it is not holding water, use a pond liner.

If you don't want to use chlorine to keep it clean, you can install an infrared light in line with a fountain and it will kill stuff. We did that with our pond.
