DIY Entry Way Skinny Table

We celebrated our son's third birthday this past weekend (how is that possible?!) and after our guests left my husband mentioned how nice it would be to have a place in our entry way to put keys or other small items. And what I heard was, honey, please make a skinny entry way table and make it look all pretty and such. So, I got to work.
Just grab 4 pieces of lumber. I used leftover pine boards.

Cut list:

1 - 2x6" boards cut to 24"

2 - 2x6" boards cut to 32"

1- 1x4" board cut to 20"

I assembled the bottom board to the two side boards using my kreg jig
Then attached the top using 2 1/4" wood screws. I filled the screw holes with some wood filler. Gave the entire piece a sanding. Then painted the bottom white and stained the top with Minwax Jacobean. I applied a protective coat polycrylic polyurethane and in one evening I had a new entry way skinny table!

I added a few decorative pieces, updated the ampersand with a fresh coat of spring-like paint and it was done!
