Fall decor apples get a dusting of frost for winter

These Golden Delicious apples were left over from my fall decor. I gave them a frosty look using Mod Podge and Epsom salts. Pretty little tags and ribbon give them a festive look.
These would look pretty as place cards for a holiday event or in a bowl as a centerpiece.

How long do they stay fresh please? I have sugared fruit for wedding decorations using slightly whipped edd whites and coarse sugar, but we just washed it right off or let helpers take them home. The fruit takes on the look of sugar plum fairy decorations... beautiful!!!

They are very cute. You can get really good fake fruit at dollar tree and male some yummy apple salad with the real ones. ;)

Is there a way we can permanently keep the Epson salt on the fake apples, so they can be used for filling years to come?
