DIY Large Chalkboard With Striped Frame

I used to have a whole wall painted with chalkboard paint. I don't have that in my new home, so I created a large chalkboard that will be a great creative space. I can change it out on a whim.
I used a utility panel from Lowes and cedar fence boards.
After some chalkboard paint and white primer, I marked where the diagonal stripes would go. Using a mix of black and white, I painted the stripes.
Then I marked the spacing for the quote I wanted to use and used a yard stick as a straight edge guide to free hand the lettering.
What a fun "play place" !

Fence boards are inconsistent and shrink. Many times I use wood filler when working with them.
