I love the idea of painted color furniture (in a color you love), and maybe a brass or metal headboard if you want to mix things up a little.
I live in a log cabin as well, and I have red kitchen cabinets! Barn red is nice with wood, I also have a lot of black distressed furniture as well.
I like Broyhill Fontana furniture for a log cabin. It was popular in the 1990s. If you want to see a picture, go to your main Craigslist page and type Fontana into the search bar. Would likely bring up some pictures. (or type in Broyhill and look for the blondish wood rustic pieces)
Log cabins have that rustic outdoorsy feel. I would consider sky blues with maybe some light greens to bring the outdoors in. Buttery yellows also brighten up rooms.
