How to Wash Pillows

Our secondary pillows were looking pretty yellow and I knew it was time, actually past time, to wash our pillows. Ideally, you should wash your pillows about 2-3 times a year. My big indicator to wash pillows is when they start to look yellow.
This tutorial covers how to wash polyester filled pillows and when to get new pillows.
If your pillow is yellow or it has been more than 6 months since you washed your pillow, it's time for a wash.
Always wash 2 pillows at a time to keep your machine balanced. Soak your pillows with 1 cup bleach for 30 minutes before washing to help whiten and disinfect your pillows.

Wash in hot water in your washer and tumble dry on medium with tennis balls or wool dryer balls to help prevent clumping.
Pillows need to be replaced about every two years. Test your pillow by folding it in half, if it unfolds your pillow is still good. If your pillow stays folded, it's time to get a new one.
