Coastal Stenciled Upholstered Bench
I picked up two benches from a hotel liquidator last year. This one sat in my garage waiting for a makeover! I finally finished it and LOVE how it came out! This makeover was pretty easy and budget friendly. A little paint and a dropcloth and new foam for the chair cushion is all I needed.
It was a broken down bench with damaged cane seating. I gave it a thourough cleaning with TSP and a new fresh coat of paint.
I stenciled a dropcloth with coastal stencil of starfish, shells and coral shapes. The white starfish didn't show up well on the fabric, so I took a black oil paint sharpie and gave the starfish a little detail.
I gave the fabric a few coats of fabric protector before I made the cusions. See my blog post for instructions on how to make the seat cushion. I picked up the new foam from Joannes with a coupon for 50% off.
It's very comfortable and looks great. Now, I just need to decide where to put it!
