I don't see where it says what you covered the frame with? They are beautiful and I love them but I don't know what is used on the outside of the frame?

Heck you could probably get some dollar tree picture frames and glue them or some paint sticks

We did something similar to this 20 years ago. We bought clear storage containers for all of our Christmas storage. We wrapped lights around them and put some ribbons on top. Since they are plastic and have lids, they are already weatherproof. When Christmas is over just unwrap them and you have your storage containers back. Since the containers come in different sizes, you can have all different size "presents". You can even wrap them in different color lights, for each "present".

Instead of using mesh ribbons to wrap the boxes, you can use plastic wrap. It will make them weatherproof and might reflect some of the light. I really like the wood boxes, but I would have painted them, just to seal the wood.
