I saw this old vanity at an auction. Every year I complete a few restoration projects. This required little. The bones were solid.
At the auction house in Strasburg, OH.
Auction find for $55! Check auctionzip online for your local auctions.
Bar Keepers friend and elbow grease restored the gleam to these drawer pulls
A steam iron works great to loosen veneer.
Steamed (used a steam iron) and stripped off old veneer. Body partially primed.
Primed and top finish nearly completed.
Polyurethane stain on cleaned drawers.
The finished product! I love this piece! I can hardly wait to locate another old vanity to restore. Keeping the drawers dark really compliments the light finish.
I had to add this photo. Here's Rex taking a soak in the sun while I work on the Vanity.
