I am always in need of pretty cups and things to hold pencils, pens and brushes and buying them can be pricey so why not make them instead with things you have around the house!
Start with a can - it can be a tin can, paperboard can etc. There are a lot of different ways you can decorate your can, but today we're using paper.
Measure your paper to fit the width of your can and trim. Line your trimmed paper with double sided tape - put some down the middle of the paper for good measure. Line the paper up with your can and slowly start pressing the tape down. Keep an eye out in case you misaligned (it's easy to do even if you think you got it right).
It's likely that your paper will not be long enough to cover the entire can - instead of trying to hide the fact, use a contrasting paper to cover the gap making it look intentional (no one will be the wiser). Now you can load your pretty can up with brushes, pens or fake flowers (if you used a metal can, you can use real flowers).
