Rusty Singer Sewing Frame Turned Into Round Timber and Cast Iron Table

Here is the finished revamp of my most recently purchased Singer sewing machine rusty treadle frame. This one has been made into a round table. I bought the round table from a neighbour, it had screw in legs and the wood was plain, unstained, untreated and quite dirty. I filled any holes in the timber, sanded and divided into segments and stained with Minwax wood stain. Gunstock is the brown shade and Ebony is the black. Then the table top was given two coats of a poly acrylic protective coat with a light sand using 220 grit paper in between coats. The Singer frame was wire brushed to remove rust and debris, rust treated in Feronite rust converter and finally spray painted in Hammerite smooth black spray paint. The leg which had been on inside out with the Singer logo on the inside of the frame (see before shot) instead of the outside was finally removed and turned the right way around after my neighbour took a wrench to the seized bolt. It would not feel right to try to sell this table with the leg the wrong way round. In this photo the frame is facing the garage door with the Singer name on the frame facing the garage door instead of the camera. Sorry, for the odd angle as the garage is a bit cluttered at present!
Frame cost $66 on ebay. Paints and stains and poly and the table top brought the total spend to $116.

Right leg at bottom missing a bolt and held on with wire
Left hand leg on inside out. See the Singer oval logo is on the inside of the frame instead of the outside. A seized rusty bolt made it hard to remove this leg to turn it the right way around so the logo was facing out. A big wrench helped!

Thank you. I still have the 4 screw on legs that came with the table top so I will have to find another purpose for them.

I'm interested in doing a similar project. How did you attach the table top to the sewing machine base?
