So this is hardly a do it yourself trick, however it is a saving money trick. :)
Have you noticed how expensive rugs are? Even going to Target or Walmart can get pricey for Rugs.
The trick is going to a flooring store! Who would have thought? This is an insider tip because I actually work at a flooring store. :) Carpet stores always have tons of remnants sitting around the warehouse that they will sell for a very good price. Most stores also can also bind the carpet (give it finished edges) and turn it into a rug for a very reasonable price. It's a wonderful idea especially if you have a unique size you are looking for. The below rug was actually left over carpet that was bound specifically to fit this area in one of my bedrooms. I love it and it was a wonderful price!
One of the best parts of purchasing a custom rug is picking out the style of the rug. You can get a regular rectangle rug, one with rounded corners or one a little different like mine. The choices are endless!
So the next time you are looking for a rug, stop by your local flooring store and see what they have! You may find just what you are looking for at a great price!
