Swing restoration AKA Saving an old friend's life.

I've had this swing for 20 years. I bought it while living in Las Vegas (another life time ago), where rain is little and the chance of rust is nill. But, 18 years ago we moved to Ohio. New story. Rain! Snow! Rust!
Every year requires spot painting to touch up rust and decay. We had neglected it for a few years and I had to pay the piper or lose this huge swing.
Scrubbed and primed.
After scrubbing and spot painting with primer, it was ready to finish.
New cushions and canopy.
Project completed.
Ready for a good book, naps, and bird watching. Welcome back, old friend.

How did you make the canopy?

I would like to know how you made the canopy as well and what kind of fabric you used. I have one that I need to make a new canopy for and don't really know where to start.
