Laughably Simple DIY Cake Stand.

I love cake stands. I really love the Emma cake stand at Pottery barn, but it's $35 and that is some cash that I don't have to spend on a cake stand. Instead, I made one for $1.38. That's one heck of a sale. :)
To make this cake stand, you need to scan your local thrift store. They probably have tons of vases and plates. Mine does and so has every one I've ever been to. People always get rid of plates and vases.
I chose a milk glass bud vase and a pretty scalloped dotted plate. It mimics the Emily Cake Stand from Pottery barn.
Add some hot glue to the rim of the vase as this is what I had on hand, but due to the many comments-E6000 glue is the way to go- some say it will even go through the dishwasher!
Flip your plate over and stick the vase on it in the center. Let it dry.
Your done. Ridiculously easy right?
Now admire. And put stuff on it :) Maybe a cake. Or not.

If you use hot glue, you can put the cakestand in the refrigerator or freezer and the glue will harden and two pieces will pop apart easily. I also do that with candles that are stuck in the holders (especially votives) and the candle pops right out after time in the freezer.
