How do you remove streaks on drinking glasses?

How do you remove streaks on drinking glasses that have been put through dishwasher cycles. Vinegar tip did not work.

It may be that they are etched or scratched. You could try automotive polishing compound.

I don't often have this problem, but when and if I do, I put them through a second rinse with a pitcher of white vinager(1 cup) and 2 Tbl. of salt in water, which I add to the dishwasher when I hear it begin the rinse cycle. Do not add it right at first as the first cycle always pumps any water left in the dishwasher out.

I add vinegar to the rinse load .... comes out great!!!

I found that simply hand washing them in Dawn dishwashing liquid several times removed the film.

If you use the no heat dry, use a soft cloth to hand dry them.

I think a vinegar soak might work but If you have hard water and no water softener or sometimes even if you do have a softener, there is no fix for this. I have tried every chemical cleaner and every homemade recipe out there to remove this white-ish film that my glass ware always gets. I eventually end up recycling the glasses and buying new. It is embarrassing to hand a guest a glass that you cant see through even though it is clean. I even at one point bought new glasses and labeled one shelf guest glasses that I only washed by hand. I do have a water softener but that doesn't mean that every time I run my dishwasher that soft water is available. After my dishwasher broke I purchased a dishwasher with a built in water softener. So far so good.
