My New Years Resolution Is To Makeover One of My Guest Bedrooms

It's not what I would really call "bad", but it needs a color pop. I got ahead of myself two years ago while we were building our house. That summer I was busy making window
treatments and found the fabric that I loved for a valance for this bedroom. I had chosen a paint color for the wall to complement the fabric but at that time it did not occur to me that this bedroom can be seen from the family room. So we ended up painting the bedroom wall the same color as the family room. I purchased neutral ready made curtains thinking that would pull it together. There was a leaf in the valance fabric that was almost the same color as the wall color, so I thought it would work just fine. I just could not make myself like it. I think that the background color of the valance fabric is what makes it not work together. I looked at what seemed like a thousand paint chips to find a color that would pull everything together. So, after much thought I purchased fabric in September for new window treatments, and also found a comfortor cover that will blend well. I am also changing my accent colors. As soon as I get all my Christmas decorations put away I will get started on my New Years Resolution. Wish me luck!!
Maybe a deeper color cream curtian would have worked, but I brought several home to try, and none of them blended.
I plan to change the headboard, too. I would like to make one or find a metal one and do away with the footboard. I can see this one as a bench!
The side table is the base of my grandmother's wash stand. It is solid oak. I am not that fond of oak, but I will definitely use this sentimental piece in this bedroom
The TV armoir will stay, and I think it will look better when I get a new headboard. (I like the garden trellis idea)

Pat, your room is lovely and you can certainly see how much work went into it!! You haven't missed a corner. Absolutely beautiful!! For some reason, I think that the comforter should be the same color as the curtains that are draped over the hanging curtains and the white shelf would look lovely painted the same color as them. I find the white to stark. But, it is your home and if you love it, then that is all that matters!
