Painted Upholstery!
When I first saw these chairs ( two of them ) on Craigslist, I knew I wanted them. They were 50.00 a piece which is a steal for Bergere Chairs - and almost impossible to find as a set nowadays! They were in perfect condition structurally - but the fabric was original and extremely dated (ugly ugly ugly).
I was quoted 400.00 a chair to reupholster them - which wasn't happening (we're in the midst of renovations so I just can't justify that expense - not to mention I was blasted from here to eternity for even purchasing them LOL.)

I decided to paint them instead - a cost effective way to update any upholstery
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Pure White.

Chalk paint on the chair upholstery ,does it stain when you seat on it and is it hard ,or is it specially for material??? I think I need more info about the staying power of the paint . Please help me!

@Lorraine Alesia It's not as soft as the original fabric for sure - but once you wax it, it feels like a supple leather ( ette ) I personally wouldn't do it on something that gets heavy use ( but that's just me - I know others have done it with success ) I've only used it for occasional chairs and it's held up beautifully. The one step you can't skip on is watering down the paint !!!
