Burlap Lamp Shade Makeover

Easy
Have an old lamp that needs a bit of updating? I sure did, and with all the leftover burlap after my wedding, I had the perfect materials to give this round lamp shade the new look it needed.
By first cutting away the fabric from the old shade, I measured the circumference of the round shade frame and cut the fabric at that length. Since the top and bottom of the frame were not attached, I could determine the length of the shade for myself.

I hot glued all the edges of the burlap to prevent fraying.
Because there was no vertical structure to the shade frame, I cut pieces of a wire hanger and straightened them out to give some interior structure by hot gluing them to the fabric between the top and bottom of the frames.
Finally, I added some white trim and a burlap flower, both from hobby lobby, to the bottom of the shade, and some brown ribbon to trim the top.
My updated lamp shade now sits happily in my living room!
