Decorating with color

I love the neutral color scheme that I see in so many gorgeous blogs and magazines but I have to admit........
MY NAME IS REBECCA AND I AM HOOKED ON "POPS" OF COLOR.
Are you more neutral? Is this too much going on for you? Think I need to tone it down a bit? You can read this post to find out what happened when I created a "new space" for me in my master bedroom. I am getting ready to "tweak" this room and would love your opinions! http://youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2012/10/my-blogging-nook/
A thrifted velvet chair that looked so perfect but may not be. http://youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2012/10/my-blogging-nook/
Too much color combining? What do you think?http://youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2012/10/my-blogging-nook/
Blending colors with woods softens it a bit. Do you agree? http://youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2012/10/my-blogging-nook/
I actually have only one more space that can take the bed in this room. Too little wall space with too many doors. Placing the bed this way gave us a sitting area. http://youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2012/10/my-blogging-nook/
A yard sale table has become the perfect desk. http://youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2012/10/my-blogging-nook/

  • First step is admitting the problem - although I have the same problem as you. Maybe we should form our own support group!

Color is wonderful! Variety is the spice of life! While white on white is the "color" of the moment (and it is lovely), colors, and classic prints are warm and cozy. And my personal decorating rule is "If it makes you happy, do it." Your home should be a reflection of you and your family, not the latest decorating magazine cover! Viva la Difference!!
