Hanging entry room "diffuser"

I am wanting to hang an 'object' to prevent peering eyes from looking into my living room area. I would like it to be capable of hanging scarfs in the entry way side and art attached to the living room side. Size... maybe 4ft x 3ft.

A folding screen would be nice, and could be made from a variety of things.

@Nance Schuman I don't quite understand the situation. Is it an opening like a doorway, or an opening that isn't used to go through. Is the area from floor to ceiling or only partial, like the upper half of a half wall?? If you can provide a better description of the area it may yield more useful suggestions.

Thank you all for your input! Decided on a frame with dowels so I can hang my scarves and some of my flower crafts (paper toilet rolls) on the other side.
