St. Pat's Inspired Home Decor

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today is the day of green bagels and beer, of pinches if you are not wearing green. Luck o’ the Irish and Erin Go Bragh! I decided that I NEEDED a little green inspiration to celebrate the weekend and day today, so I came up with a super fast and pretty darn cute frame idea to share with you today. I often display holiday items in with my regular decor, just moving some items around in the house to fit where needed, I love just adding a few touches to celebrate a little holiday or even a big one.
I already had the frame created, but I will go over the very simple steps for you. Paint the frame black if it’s not already. I love the $.99 cans of black gloss spray paint, works great! I also had this mat I’d bought at Walmart, and just used black acrylic to paint the mat. What a great idea to add color to your photo frames. Acrylic paint is less than a dollar for a bottle. I then hot glued the frame glass BEHIND the mat. doing this, and leaving the back open was my intent, then I could switch photos out easily.
Next, I used my Cricut machine and the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge to cut out the clovers. I sized them to about 1 inch, which fit across the opening of the 5 x 7 inch space of the mat.

I used total scraps too. I just pulled out papers that were nice together and added in cardstock and got variety without any cost. After cutting out the clovers, I added foam tape to the backs and stuck them on the glass.
