White or brown table?

So I found another end table I absolutely love from Home Goods...this time with a white bottom. Which one do you think looks better in this space next to the blue chair, the white one or brown one. I already have lots of dark wood so I thought the white would be better but not sure See my other picture of the kitchen question...

Even though I love white...I think the dark brown looks better beside the dark chair. :)

I like the way the white cabinet is a nice backdrop for the dark table and the dark chair. The white table blends in and tends to disappear. Also, would it be possible to darken the legs of the chair, close to or the same shade as the table? I love the dark rich blue color of the chair but the lighter color on the chair legs seem to compete with the floor and the dark table. I think the chair would have a richer look with dark legs.

    Are they the same table?
    • Reginaeaster Reginaeaster on Mar 09, 2015
@Anne Wight yes they are the same table....one goes next to another chair and then I was putting this one next to this chair...I use to have a smaller brown one there....but I was afraid I had to much brown...see picture below

They both look great~! Which one makes you smile? Which one is more YOU?

Hi, Either table looks great! Question for you is, do you like a contrast? If so go with the darktable. If want more of a blend, go with the white. Thought to consider, instead of staining the legs darker on the chair, how about changing them altogether. The existing chair legs are more art deco/mid century style. You could buy cabriole legs like your chair and change them. Or you could changethem to jar or pot legs which are round and stubbier. Patti Ottawa, Ontario Canada

@Patti oh my gorgeous.....love those legs...will have to look into this thank you
  • ...Personally ,I am partial to the white one with the dark top, I feel it looks better with the chair and the cabinets. ...and I like the blue and white flower pot, it looks nice on that table. Its more about what YOU prefer, and what makes you smile when you walk into the room. :)

You have a lot of white in the room already. Go dark - it helps balance the dark blue traditional chair.

They're both winners. The white legs lend a cottage feel while the stained table looks more traditional. Tough decision!

darling table but you seem to have a lot of white cabinets and molding and the white seems to disappear---so from just this pict I vote dark

I lie them both! I think the white is more updated, but the wood stands out more.s

Now that I see the entire room and that you have other wood I like the dark one better. By the way, I LOVE your room!

I would paint it a peachy-orange and then use a dark wax to antique it. THAT would really pop.

They are both nice, but since you have some dark tones in the room the dark table helps to balance things out as @Marion Nesbitt said. If you were just keeping the decor in the left side of the room, I would say go white. The dark top of the white table seems to float. I also agree with darker chair legs.

The white one is perfect! It works beautifully with your furniture & it's brighter!
