Organizing a Closet by Using What You Already Own

I really can't believe I'm posting this! My closet has been an eye-sore and a catch-all for all of our clutter for the last 5 years. It got out of control with the holidays... and after Christmas, we finally decided to deal with the disaster. I wanted to make my closet a space I could enjoy but had to do so by using what I already owned... there was no budget for baskets, bins and other organizational accessories. I love the result, but still can't believe the before was so bad. (You'll have to click the blog post to see the before... I'm too chicken to post it here!)
The "after" shot of my walk-in closet. Completely transformed using items I already owned. A huge change from the before!

My revamped closet shelves now store crafting supplies in a pretty and organized fashion

Another "after". My slipcovered chair fits perfectly along the wall by my shoe shelves.
