Repurposed Furniture Into A Bookshelf/Rolling Dry Bar/Bakers Rack

I found this photo icebox at a yard sale for $3....I cleaned it up and put it in the apartment but didn't like it all that much.

I was driving one day A few months ago and saw some old wooden doors laying on the side of the road while it was raining. I didn't know what I was going to do with them but I didn't knew I could use them for something creative.

Just a few weeks ago I was driving home and decided to drive away I've never driven before. On the side the street was an old dining room table in pieces so I figured I'd stop check it out. I picked up the table top and under it were some old coffee table legs. I couldn't help but snag the legs and you'll see why when you see the picture.

I had all these pieces but I didn't quite know what to make with them. A few friends mention the coffee table but I wanted something different. I wanted to make something I've never seen before. I did a little brainstorming and it hit me. I'd never seen a Baker's rack or dry bar made from repurposed wood furniture pieces. In addition to furniture pieces I also used old Redwood slats for redwood fence. So all I have to do is put it together. Since I work on all my projects solo it was pretty challenging I have to say. But the following pictures or the beginning of the end.

First I built platforms for shelving and attached the legs to the platforms. Then I attached the platforms and legs to the door.

I decided to add a base layer of white primer because I'd like to paint it to match the legs closer. I'm new to the shabby chic way of painting so that's another project for another day.

I gave the old icebox coat of white primer and a coat of flat white paint. I think it looks 100% better!

I added six rubber heavy-duty casters to the bottom make it mobile. And since we don't have room inside I decided to put it on the balcony and use it for a microwave rack-for now...
