Dollar store eggs, napkins and glue are all you need to make these cute eggs!
Today I am sharing another really simple Easter egg craft that I first did with my Grandmother over 45 years ago. Yes, I am telling my age! I have written before about how much I loved going to my Grandmother’s house and looking forward to what new craft she was working on for her church bazaar. We made these when I was in elementary school so this is also a craft you can do with children or grandchildren.
Materials Needed:

Eggs- I have used styrofoam, paper mache and just plastic ones

Paper napkin with the design of your choice

Modge Podge or white glue

Small paint brush

Scissors
Directions:

Prepare your eggs. If you are using styrofoam eggs then you need to paint a layer of watered down glue or Modge Podge all over the eggs and let them dry.

If you are using the plastic ones you may need to spray paint them white or a color to match your napkins. I painted the paper mache ones white. You don’t want a color to show through your design.

Then separate your napkins to just one thickness and cut out your designs. As you can see, you don't have to be too careful since you will be over lapping the napkins any way.

Begin gluing your napkin pieces to your egg. Brush a little glue onto the egg, place the napkin design on the egg and then brush a little more glue over the napkin, brushing down the edges and any wrinkles you may have.

Don’t worry too much about the wrinkles- they can be mostly smoothed out with your paintbrush and glue and/or covered with another cut out.
Complete about half the egg, set it aside and let it dry. I set mine on napkin rings to dry, but you can also cut slices of a paper towel or toilet paper roll to use. If you try to complete the entire egg at one time your hands are too sticky and you end up pulling the delicate paper off the egg.

After you have covered the entire egg with your paper cutouts, then coat the entire thing one more time with your Modge Podge or watered down glue and let dry.
I also added some very fine glitter to mine- I hope you enjoy making these eggs and have a Happy Easter! Come see what else I am making at the lake!
