Sweater Carrots

Spring is coming but before you put away those sweaters consider turning your orange sweaters into sweater carrots. These are so cute for you decor.
These sweaters came from a thrift store and are actually left overs from making Sweater pumpkins and goards.
I started with this sleeve. You want to cute long skinny triangles. See the top end of the sleeve is folded so I saved myself some work and just made one cut to make the long skinny triangles.
Here's what your after. Don't worry if the triangle isn't perfect, carrots are not perfectly shaped either.
With ride sides together use hot glue to close the other side of the triangle. Or sew it closed if you prefer. Leave the top open for now.
Once the glue has cooled and hardened turn your carrot right side out. Use a pencil or something to get that tight point out. Then stuff.
Cut a strip from a green sweater about 5-6 inches long. Then cut that into 1-2 inch smaller strips.
Now make cuts into the smaller strips but don't cut all the way through. Sorry for no pic of the next step. But fold and glue the ends of the fringe to the base, then roll and glue it. You can see what I mean in the final picture.
Back to the carrot, fold and tuck the top ends in leaving a hole or space for the stem to sit. Add glue to the hole then push the stem in. Holding the carrot this way works best to do this. Squeeze some for a minute to allow the glue to dry.
All done! I think the carrots turned out cute! As always more details are on the blog. Happy Easter
