Thrift Shop Cutting Board Re-purposed As Easter Decor

I purchased a wood item at a thrift shop recently for 59 cents. I thought it might be a cutting board but it was coated with a shiny poly or varnish. Chalk paint and a zinc vase transformed the piece into Easter decor and also a year round decor piece.
My 59 cent thrift shop piece had the appearance of a breadboard or cutting board. It had a leather string hanger, but the shiny finish was puzzling.
I painted my purchase with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg Blue.
I attached a Norah Zinc vase purchased at a floral shop for $3.50. One screw was all I needed.
Adding a brown paper tag, floral picks, and vintage bunny cookie cutter, made a cute Easter decoration.
The piece can also be changed up with faux or (real) herbs and tag for year round decor. My blog has complete instructions for both versions!
