Plant a Spring Blooming Birdbath

Using potted Spring bulbs I planted a metal birdbath for out on the front porch. The scent of the Hyacinth is heavenly.

I bought a pot of assorted bulbs from Lowe's for $7.95. I intentionally chose one that was not fully blooming yet so that it would last longer.

The assortment had daffodils, purple crocus, a pink hyacinth, and red tulips.

I added a couple of chippy green pots, one filled with sedum. and moss.

I tucked a bit of reindeer moss in one pot.

I added branches of Pussy Willows cut from my garden in the center. I had seen a similar idea on the cover of Country Gardens magazine.

This photo was taken on Saturday right after I planted it. The color is now bursting forth.

I want to try this! I have a white bird bath. What should I use to paint it before placing the plants in it?

Hi, if I was painting it I would use a Rustoleum water proof spray paint. But, I think it would be cute left white as well. Thanks!

@Lynnda Thanks so much Lynda. I have loved mine! When the bulbs are through I am going to turn it into a fairy garden.
