Shabby Chic Cupcake Sign From a Cabinet Door

I was inspired to create a cute cupcake sign when I saw my girls sitting at their little table having tea time. I thought it would be cute to have a little cafe or cupcake sign, something bakery inspired for sure hanging on their playroom wall. So here's how i transformed this cabinet door that I saved from the trash into this adorable shabby chic cupcake sign.
I painted it using Duck Egg from Annie Sloan and then Old White over that. I lightly distressed it. I had printed this cupcake poster in reverse and applied mod podge to the ink side and then laid it onto the middle flat and let it dry for at least 6 hours. I then proceeded to wet and rub off the paper very gently. It took forever but I love the results. This was an inkjet copy for those who are wondering but I've used both toner and inkjet and both work for this type of project. I also used regular mod podge.
Although I never got around to hanging it in their playroom, I did use it as a cupcake display sign for their Frozen birthday party!
And here's the cabinet before the transformation!
