Bathroom color question

OK,i hope to soon start repainting entire interior of house, the original colors are gold and olive green, with gold accent walls, the master bed in the green and master bath is gold. I have picked out a burgundy/cranberry and a tan. Burgundy will be the accent color, I chose the colors because the match most of my furnishing, However I am seriously thinking of painting the master bath a dark to medium grey. The bath has wainscoting which will be white and white fixtures. What do you think, should I stick with the burgundy in the MB or go grey...would it look to odd to have one room different from rest? I am not real big on having too many colors in a house, but I can see the grey in there better than the burgundy...just unsure if it would look odd.

IMO, grey is long overdue, overrated and ubiquitous. But that's just me, you live there, you should go with whatever makes you feel like home, without worrying about whether it looks odd or not. It just has to feel right to you.

our bathroom is gray this year; and we love it; our hallway is a neutral sage; and I don't notice the two difference. We love gray; however, much of a challenge getting a gray that may be blue undertones; or maybe brown toned gray would be better. Such a nice softer color. Stark white may be to bright; maybe a softer gray tone white for wainscoating; just my suggestion. If you have never had gray, try it once.

Grey all the way. I have it in my bathroom and hall. Hallway is a shade darker. I love it. I agree you can pick a grey with blue undertones, which we did to make the bath feel more spa-like. Your idea of adding white would really freshen the room. And if you hate it- it's only paint!!!

I think a medium to light gray in the bathroom with the white would be refreshing. You can still go with burgundy or gold accents. Paint your MBdrm after the bath is done and coordinate with at least one of the colors in the bathroom.

Lagree - You might try a light "greige" on your main floor walls. It is basically a combination of gray and beige. It will go with your furniture, rugs, and woodwork nicely. With all the "heavy" colors (burgundy/brown/green), a light wall will brighten the rooms and make the other colors stand out. It will not be a harsh transition to a room with gray walls, either.
