This is a vanity that once upon a time had a skirt. I purchased one recently at a yard sale and sanded and painted it white and added a skirt. Yours is pretty. I'd paint it and add a skirt. Pick up a mirror at a yard sale and paint it to match. Good luck!

Mine had a very ugly skirt that was velcroed on. I removed it. Thx for your ideas!

Distressed chalkboard white with distressed darker (black or dark grey) stenciling.

I bought one at a yard sale ,it was missing one of its arm and had a name carved in it . I made a new arm to replace the missing one . I did some sanding and painted it white . Got a glass top for it . I had a oval lace piece under the glass , got a yard sale mirror and mounted it on the wall . Made a mint green skirt . A old vanity stool finished it off. looks great in my guest room !
  • This would make a nice side table or plant stand. Maybe find a inexpensive remanant of marble for the top.

What exactly do you want to do with this? Repaint it, or stain it or repurpose it? It would be nice either stained or painted. If you want to repurpose it, it would make a very nice lady's writing desk, or desk to a child/teenager. The arms are perfect for holding a laptop or iPad, while work is being done on the main part.

Since it is so dainty...French looking...I would use some of that French feed-sack cloth for covering the seat and put a pretty stencil on the top on the left side. Then add a frilly (maybe even lace) skirt.

You could make a skirt out of a tutu, there are a million different things you can do for it, and it's pretty right now find something to match it.

I have the same vanity and would like to turn in into a console table. Do you have pictures of what you ended up doing? I like the skirt and would like to give it a modern look. Any ideas?

Mine looked just like yours but I wanted to update it. So I painted it black and put a pleated skirt on it. I can use it as a console or desk or vanity.

Since no one uses the little skirts anymore, I would look for a little catch to hold the two arms in place or add a decorative plaster rose to the center of the two arms and glue them shut. It looks like it deserves a French style stencil or transfer for the top.
