You Can Make a Charging Station/Cookbook Holder Out of a Cutting Board

I Love cutting boards! It seems I get lucky at the thrift store! This one was natural on one side and stained on the other.
So with a few wooden scraps and a small set of hinges I am on my way!
I drilled a larger hole at the base of the cutting board large enough for 3 adapters to fit through. For the shelf piece I drilled one larger hole then a smaller one marking the placement of a tablet and phone. After drilling holes and pieces cut to size, I began gluing with wood glue and hot glue.
The back piece put together with a 3" wide piece at the upper part of board, this is where your hinge goes. With a 3X7 inch piece, the lower part of the hinge is screwed in to that piece. I took some left over pieces cut to fit to make a lip and decorative molding I had on hand from another project.
A view of holes drilled for adapters. After drilling and and applying pieces. Time for paint.
I picked Black and Tan colors to match our kitchen. You can make yours any fun color to match your decor.
This is showing the adapters extended out to let you see placement.
This cutting board holds two at a time because of the size. There are larger ones out there that may be made to hold more. This is my tablet and phone.
Here is my new home for my electronics! This can also be used to hold a cookbook in place while cooking and a message center done in chalk paint. The possibilities are endless!
